About Tracy
Windy City native Tracy Dunbar is a district leader in Phoenix Union High School District. She began her career in 2002 in Early Childhood Education where she owned and operated an Accredited child care facility that included transportation for before and after school care within her community. Several years later her family relocated to Arizona where she became a Therapeutic foster parent and began volunteering in schools – immediately recognizing that Special Education was her “calling”.
She has served in a co-teaching capacity at the secondary level, as well as, department chair and a former principal at a local Phoenix elementary school where she was the first African American Principal of that school.
Tracy has successfully completed her education in Business Management, Early Childhood Education, Special Education Cross Categorical, and Educational Leadership. She is also a member of the Phoenix Alliance of Black School Educators and an Abolitionist for students.
